Overview

Backboard is building a configurable AI memory and infrastructure platform used by developers to create stateful AI applications. Our backend systems are deep and complex, but our frontend surfaces must be stable, performant, and easy to use.

We are hiring a Frontend Developer to build and maintain the user-facing layer across Backboard’s web applications and website. This role focuses on shipping production-grade interfaces and application experiences.

What You’ll Work On

• Build and maintain frontend applications for Backboard’s web platform and website

• Implement UI for dashboards, onboarding flows, and product workflows

• Collaborate with product and backend engineering to ship end-to-end features

• Ensure frontend performance, reliability, and accessibility

• Maintain consistency across application surfaces

• Improve frontend architecture, tooling, and build processes

• Own features from development through production

Core Tech Stack

Required

• JavaScript and TypeScript

• React or a comparable modern frontend framework

• Experience building production web applications

• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture

Nice to Have

• Next.js or similar frameworks

• Experience with state management and auth flows

• Familiarity with API-driven frontends

• Experience with mobile or iOS development (Swift, SwiftUI, React Native, etc.)

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as a frontend developer

• Demonstrated experience shipping real web applications

• Comfortable owning frontend features end-to-end

• Able to work independently in a fast-moving environment

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Bias toward shipping and iteration
